What is the best free real time shield?

I use avg for virus protection and am satisfied with the resident shield of that but what about spyware shield. What is a good free real time shield to run along side avg. I tried adaware for about a year and the shield has never got anything. I have now gone to threatfire. I am also thinking of spyware terminator. Opinions please.
