Do earth quakes changes astrology?

Was reading how the Japan earth quake was powerful enough to shift the earth on it's axis giving or taking away time of the day (Can't remember which). Also other major earth quakes were powerful enough to do this. So with all the earth quakes in the past, is it really safe to believe that today's astro programs are accurate when they are probably based on old information?
