What's a really good way to reveal the winner of the Homecoming King award?

So our theme this year for our Homecoming dance is Aladdin. For the boys, I wanted to reveal the Homecoming King by giving each Court member a genie lamp and have them rub it. Now what would happen as they rub it, is i would already have a fog machine under the winner's chair, which i would then switch on. I want the fog to surround the winner so it looks like the genie is coming out for the winner. However, this probably won't work anymore because it might set off our fire alarms, which go by sensing obstructions in the alarm itself rather than sensing heat. Does anyone have a really good idea to reveal the Homecoming King using the genie lamps? They're just regular br lamps shaped like the one in Aladdin.
