What can I add to white paint to make it a toffee colour bearing in mind I can't afford another pot of paint x

I was thinking maybe poster paint or a couple of tester pots and need this to be as cheap as possible but am not sure about mixing etc. Someone suggested coffee but i'm not sure and do not want to waste a tin of perfectly good paint.Please please get back as soon as possible
