I have sonic record now installed but it won't copy any CD's or DVD's?

my computer crashed a while ago and since then Sonic record now version 7 won't copy anything, i did download FAB but the trial is up does anyone know how i can rectify my Sonic to work (it was already installed but no disc) or know of any free programms i can download to copy CD's or DVD's
