Did the Mosaic Law end with the death of Jesus?

I personally think that the things God told Moses to tell the children of Israel hold true for our good today. It's just that NO ONE can perfectly follow the law and so Jesus came so we can be dependent on Him to save us and not trying to be perfect. There was a reason God said don't shellfish...have you seen what they eat? Yuck. All of those things are still things we should avoid-but I do like a good fried shrimp now and then!!
