In south africa, we have so-called 'affirmative action' policies whereby jobs are reserved for previously disadvantaged people (blacks, coloureds and indians) and must be given to such people, even if there is a white person more qualified and suited to the job. in my opinion, this is leading to incompetence because people who may not be capable and suited to the position are being thrust into them simply to fulfil a quota. opinions on the fairness of such?
